I was doing some holiday shopping, looking for the Marc Jacobs Lola as a gift. When I came across this small but lovely bottle. I knew my friend wanted Lola. I decided to test it out anyway because I knew she loved Dior. I couldn’t believe how beautiful it smelt. It was sweet, but had maturity and was much stronger than the Lola for sure. I loved it, I was torn of which to buy her. After Blabbering at the perfume lady I went with Lola to play it safe. Besides the Cherie was much more “me” anyway. bottom line it’s a lovely fragrance to check out if you haven’t already. I usually wear Juicy Couture’s perfume, so if thats to your liking this may be as well.

Posted in Fashion Must, Shoes with tags Shoes, winter, boots, fur, leather, snow, haight ashbury, San francisco, SF, california on December 11, 2009 by GermanyWinter has finally arrived and as well, 20 degree weather in San Francisco! I’m going up there in a week, so I needed some boots to keep my feetsies warm. I’m quite naive when it comes to winter wear…well, winter in general actually. I saw these great pair of black Zigi Soho boots at Journeys shoe store. They feel warm enough, especially with a few layers of socks. Though I do hope I can manage to tuck my skinny jeans into them.
Speaking of San Francisco, the district of Haight Ashbury is a holy grail to Fashion. I experienced similar in down town seattle. Haight is a must see with indie-retro-rock styles. The thrift and vintage stores amazing, unbelievably low prices for great grabs and rare finds. Not to mention the various restaurants. Great place to go indulge your modern hippie.

In My Bag: The Basics
Posted in Clothing, Makeup, Shoes, Uncategorized with tags bangels, basics, chinese laundry, Dollhouse shoes, gold accesories, lipstick, MAC, Makeup, wetseal on September 6, 2008 by GermanyCan you really ever go wrong with a white or black tee? I got these two because I think it’s always good to have a few simple-classic items to work with. And in addition they are very flattering. V-neck Tees from WetSeal.
I believe I am becoming a M.A.C. junkie as well. First it’s the lipsticks I had my eye on and now it’s the Paint pot cream eye shadows. I bought these colors I have been longing for.
MAC RED LIPSTICK
MAC SNOB LIPSTICK
HOT TOPIC BLACK LIPSTICK
Then I went in a cheaper direction because as far as I know MAC doesn’t carry black lipstick. So I hit up Hot Topic.
Don’t forget the accessories! Bangles from WetSeal.
Also in my bag is silver gladiator Snakeskin stilettos By Chinese laundry, Leopard print pointed toe/low-heels by Dollhouse and WetSeal Black and silver bangels.

Black patent Oxford heels From Payless( yeah i can be cheap). I have wanted oxfords for as long as I can remember. They are classic, sophisticated and dam sexy!

Chuck Taylor Converse Black very high tops from Journeys. I just KNEW I had to have these shoes when they caught my eye in the display window a couple months ago. I was hoping the price would get marked down, unfortunately they didn’t. They were $69 but SO worth it.

Floral Art print skirt from WetSeal. This wasn’t a wishlist item, nor something I would normally buy but hell, it was so pretty, this picture does NOT do it any justice. Not only is it colorful and fun it is extremely flattering.

Lipstick shade Honey Love from M.A.C. A nude shade to match my skin as closely as possible when I was to do smokey eyes. I cannot wait to go back and pickup the red, chocolate and pink matte lipstick.
Religious Influence on the Fashion world
Posted in Clothing, Photography, Uncategorized with tags Catholic, Christian, David lachapelle, fashion, Jean paul gaultier, Jesus, Miles Aldridge, Religion, runway, Virgin Mary on August 25, 2008 by GermanyChristianity has influenced the world in so many ways, other than where some people go on Sundays. The Bible is the most well known book in the world. It’s stories appear in so many places in so many ways, we barely even notice it anymore (i.e. The phrase “good Samaritan”). Whether or not people believe in the Christian faith is beside the point because it has fascinated and inspired so many over the centuries. From literature to art, music and lifestyle, it has even stumbled onto high fashion runways.

The first two is Dita Von Teese modeling Jean Paul Gaultier. The Virgin Mary was his collections inspiration.

Aren’t they absolutely stunning? These are the photos of Miles Aldridge and it more than obvious that the Virgin Mary is his inspiration. Of course the Fashion world adopts the more ornate Catholicism style. That way you get all the bling. There is a artist that puts the others to rest on this subject. Religion is a reoccurring theme of his work, it’s almost excessive. The scenes he paints are a little disturbing at times but they never fail to be creative and beautifully executed. Well known eccentric photographer and one of my personal favorites:David Lachapelle

He displays various religious stories: the virgin Mary and her deceased son, something reminiscent of the last supper, and a modern day take on Noah’s Arc.
If this religious ascetic is your thing, there’s more where that came from. You can buy fake rosary and wooden bracelets with tiny paintings of saints on them at Hot Topic. I’m not a Christian myself but I personally like those runway looks. Sometimes I think religious influence can get sickening because it’s everywhere you turn, yet it is amazing to see how intrigued people are with something historical.
So get out there and make Jesus proud
Goth Couture: Marilyn Manson
Posted in Clothing, Photography, Uncategorized with tags couture, fashion, Goth, high fashion, Lewis carroll, Lily Cole, Marilyn Manson, phantasmagoria, Photography on August 24, 2008 by GermanyI was just looking over Vogue when I saw Lily Cole in an ad for Nordstrom. It made me remember the photosoot in (September 2006) Fashion Rocks magazine of Marilyn Manson and Lily Cole. I suprised to see Manson in high fashion but I was pleased, he looked amazing. I’ve always been a fan of his creative ambitions in art, music and especially his fashion sense. He has come a long way from wearing torn pantyhoes, I thought he was great then, and he’s he even greater now.I would love to see him in Vogue again. He has taken himself to a new level over the years: a defined artist and a idol of goth couture.

Manson is having Lily Cole star in his upcoming film Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll. I believe it will be released in 2009 and I can’t wait to see it!

D&G Mens 2008 Fall Collection
Posted in Clothing with tags 2008, classic, D&G, Dolce and Gabbana, fall collection, fashion, menswear, plaid, runway, rustic on August 23, 2008 by GermanyI am in love with the fall collection for men. I also looked over the women’s fall collection expecting to be just as pleased. Unfortunately I wasn’t. For the women I felt the plaid was overdone and messy. A few classy dresses made their way but I was disappointed with the lack of cohesiveness (opposed to the men’s collection).

Mixing textures and layers with a rustic feel.

Conservative, yet rugged.

This chocolate suit is gorgeous and livens the classic look.

Subtle details that give character.

Rich delicious colors

Well-balanced patten mixing.

WTF Vogue?
Posted in Oh Noes with tags Bad style, fashion, hair style, Keira knightly, Vogue on August 23, 2008 by Germany
What the fuck did Keira or her stylist do to her hair? This is Keira Knightly on the cover of September Vogue. I don’t like to bash but her hair looks hacked. It makes her look sickly…like a cancer or Anorexic patient. Like a butch or some 14 year old boy that gave himself a haircut. I like Keira, her elegant style, acting, accent and gorgeous body but goodness I couldn’t believe what I saw . Anyways shame of Vogue for showcasing the mess. At lest her makeup is done beautifully.

In my bag: Prints
Posted in Clothing with tags fashion, jackets, lumberjack, plaid, prints, racer back, tank-tops, wet seal on August 21, 2008 by GermanyVersatile tops that can be dressed up or dressed down. Nothing too bold in print, that’s not my style. I bought the racer backs in a size larger because I could tell it’s going to majorly shrink when put it in the dryer. As for the red plaid jacket it inspired my friend and I to sing a song called ” I’m a sexy lumberjack”. Don’t get me wrong I have wanted a jacket like this for some time now. The only thing that kind of irks me about this one is the quarter sleeve. It’s like the clothing is Bipolar, it can’t decide if it wants to be a jacket or a shirt.
